Upper Lip Threading at Maxi Care Beauty Salon
On threading the upper lip; while waxing is efficient for large sections of skin like the hands and legs, threading is better for small areas like the upper lip.
As opposed to waxing, twee-zing, or lasers, threading the eyebrows is considered one of the safest and most precise methods of hair removal, especially in the delicate areas surrounding the lips.
One of the most common methods of threading is with the long strand of cotton thread — held in one end of the mouth. The thread is twisted to efficiently roll over the skin to individually pluck the roots of unwanted hair. Other methods include either the use of a chain to hold the thread instead of the mouth, or the “butterfly method,” which uses the knotted thread being twisted and pulled through two fingers on each hand.
Upper Lip threading is also said to be safer for those prone to post-waxing breakouts. A good practitioner has light and painless movements with the thread and skin.
While the rate of re-growth depends on how fast your hair grows, typically, threading clients tend to get their upper lip threaded every two to three weeks. This is because the process actually removes singular hairs from their roots. Therefore, the results can last just as long as waxing them.
